Initially, I was very confused in regards to the assignment when Mandy first told us about it, and i wasn't particularly fond on the amount of freedom that we had as I prefer to have some guidance when it comes to assignments. However in the first lesson I had back with Suzie she told us it was more specifically on a Sense of Place, which initially I was going to do on my home, and therefore my family, cats, friends and everything that makes me, me!
But being home I've thought about it a little bit more and thought more specifically with my family, and come to the conclusion that with me and my family, hands are a brilliant sense of place because my family are deaf I use BSL to communicate with them, and in general I use my hands a lot when talking or expressing emotions/feelings. So overall I feel as if doing my project on hands/bsl is much more of a sense of place to me than anything else, as I can incorporate so many other things, such as family and friends, and i already have some images of me using my hands in an expressive manner in photos that have been taking whilst ive been with my family and friends! it's such a great topic to do, I'm so excited to start!
I've got some images printed out, but I need some pens, and colourful paper, I also need to print out the work of the artist I've found and then I'm all ready to go and start on this project - hurrah!!
:D
