Avascular Necrosis is defined as "a disease where there is cellular death (necrosis) of bone components due to interruption of the blood supply.[3] Without blood, the bone tissue dies and the bone collapses.[2] If avascular necrosis involves the bones of a joint, it often leads to destruction of the joint articular surfaces"
Thank you Wiki!!
so yes, My left hip bone is dying so it's not great.
I've been on 1200mg of ibprofen a day and it's getting a bit tedious and boring. so thankfully the NHS have decided to do their job (not a big fan but alas too poor for private treatment.) and give me a hip replacement.
I'm having my pre operational assesment on the 19th of december in which they;re gonna take the usual malarky.. blood, pee, mri scans, x rays, blah blah.
and then some time in january (HOPEFULLY!!!!!) I'm having a hip replacement and I'll be able to do the normal teenage student things such as party all night and walk for ages.
this is a photo of my hip a few months ago, you can see the two hip joints are alined as my left one is a fair bit shorter than the other.. which is why I gotz swagger. and this is when I was 5 weeks into my 6 week stay at The Royal Alexander Childrens Hospitasl in Brighton! As you can see... it does drive people a bit cuckoo.
and this is my wonderful Mum who's come to every hospital appointment, every operation and supported me through my ups and downs with my sodding hip. She truly is a wonderful woman and mum and I love her so much. I'm genuinely always greatful for everything she does for me. <3
